* Triệu chứng của bệnh:

Những triệu chứng phức tạp có thể xảy ra khi có xâm nhập của vi khuẩn gây viêm phế quản mãn tính, rối loạn hô hấp mãn tính.
* Chẩn đoán bệnh: Cúm ngựa thường được chẩn đoán thông qua quan sát tốc độ phát bệnh và lây lan. Phân tích phòng thí nghiệm thường giúp phân biệt cúm ngựa với ‘viêm phổi mũi do virus – equine viral rhinopneumonitis’; ‘viêm động mạch ngựa do virus – equine viral arteritis’ và với nhiều bệnh gây ra do virus tấn công đường hô hấp ngựa.
