On January 30, 2023, Professor Watazu Yamazaki from the Southeast Asian Research Center at Kyoto University, Japan, visited the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Vietnam National University of Agriculture to collaborate on the project “Developing a highly sensitive diagnostic method for African swine fever in Vietnam and clarifying the disease transmission dynamics.”
On January 31, 2023, in the seminar room of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Yamazaki and the faculty’s lecturers, staff, and students organized a scientific seminar on the topic “Principles of the LAMP isothermal gene amplification method and its application in the early diagnosis of African swine fever.”
At the beginning of the seminar, Associate Professor Bui Tran Anh Dao, Head of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, expressed gratitude to Professor Yamazaki for sharing knowledge and engaging in discussions to enrich the student’s learning experience.
During the seminar, Professor Yamazaki highlighted the importance of early diagnosis in mitigating the impact of infectious diseases in animals. He also explained the principles of the LAMP isothermal gene amplification method and its potential application in the early diagnosis of African swine fever in the field. The information shared during the seminar serves as a foundation for the project team members’ future research and application.
The seminar garnered significant interest, participation, and discussions from scientific research lecturers, students, and graduate interns.
Additionally, Professor Yamazaki also visited and collaborated with the Infectious Microorganisms and Parasitology departments during his time at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. These activities fostered meaningful cooperation and exchange, particularly during the early spring of 2023.
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
