Dr. Nguyen Ba Tiep is a dedicated Lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA). He has been actively involved with VOHUN and is always eager to participate in its activities. Let’s explore his impressive biography with VOHUN: Dr. Tiep’s educational journey began at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Vietnam University of Agriculture, where he completed his undergraduate studies. He further pursued his academic career and earned a Master’s degree from Seoul National University in Korea. Dr. Tiep’s quest for knowledge led him to spend four years at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Goettingen, Federal Republic of Germany, where he conducted advanced research. He successfully obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover. Throughout his career, Dr. Tiep has been fully committed to teaching and conducting research in various areas, including Anatomy, Diseases of Wildlife, Toxicology, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and Diagnostic imaging on animals. His expertise and dedication to these fields have made him an esteemed figure within the academic community. Talk: Wildlife Conservation and Health Wild animals play a crucial role in maintaining the delicate balance of our ecosystem. However, the exponential growth of the human population has put immense pressure on natural resources, resulting in habitat loss and endangering various wildlife species. This not only affects the environment but also poses risks to human health. The urgency of wildlife conservation has never been greater. To deepen our understanding of the intricate relationship between wildlife and human health, and to recognize the critical importance of wildlife conservation, the Vietnam One Health Network of Universities (VOHUN) organized a Seminar on March 3, 2022. The event featured expert speakers from esteemed organizations such as the Wildlife Conservation Society (#WCS), World Wide Fund for Nature (#WWF), Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (#CITES_Việt_Nam), Save Vietnam’s Wildlife (#Save_Vietnam’s_Wildlife), and the Vietnam National University of Agriculture (#VNUA). The seminar provided valuable insights into the impact of wildlife conservation on human health and the environment, shedding light on the urgency of protecting our precious wildlife. Participants had the opportunity to learn from leading experts and gain a deeper appreciation for the crucial role that wildlife conservation plays in securing a healthier and more sustainable future for both humans and our planet.
