Faculty of Veterinary Medicine welcomed Indian professors and students for research and training
In recent years, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Vietnam National University of Agriculture has gained increasing recognition and reputation both within the country and among international partners. As a result, there has been a rise in the number of international delegations visiting and collaborating with the faculty in research and training initiatives.
On March 8, 2023, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine welcomed delegations from various institutions in India, including the Faculty of the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry in Jalukie, the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry in Selesih, Aizawl, from the Central Agriculture University, and the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine from Guru Angad Dev Animal Husbandry College.
During the reception, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Tran Anh Dao extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegations and expressed their enthusiasm for working together. Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam then provided an overview of the faculty’s personnel, training programs, research achievements, and scientific research orientations, as well as an introduction to the veterinary hospitals and key biology laboratories.
Prof. Ingugam Shakuntala and Prof. Tapan Kumar Dutta introduced the Central University of Agriculture in India, which comprises 14 faculties located in various provinces. The College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry in Jalukie has 17 departments, while the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry in Selesih, Aizawl, has 14 departments. The professors also shared some research outcomes, particularly from the Veterinary Pathology Department of the College of Veterinarian Sciences and Animal Husbandry in Selesih, Aizawl. Additionally, students from Guru Angad Dev College of Veterinary Medicine presented an overview of their university.
Over the following two weeks, the two visiting professors will collaborate on research at the Biotechnology Key Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Vietnam National University of Agriculture. Meanwhile, the students from Guru Angad Dev College of Veterinary Medicine will undergo a two-week training program in animal disease control, including rotations in the departments of pathology, infectious microbiology, and parasitology. These cooperative efforts aim to further strengthen ties and foster mutual learning between the faculties and institutions involved.
