Bệnh care ở chó là gì?

Năm 1905, Care tìm ra vius gây bệnh, từ đó virus này mang tên ông. Bệnh có ở khắp nơi trên thế giới, phổ biến ở các nước châu Âu, châu Á, châu Mỹ.
Ở nước ta, bệnh được phát hiện từ những năm 1925, ở hầu hết các loài chó cảnh nhập nội và các đàn chó nội thuộc nhiều tỉnh từ Bắc đến Nam nước ta.

Bệnh Care là bệnh truyền nhiễm do virus Canine distemper, thuộc họ Paramyxoviridae, giống Morbilivirus.
Đây là một loại virus có khả năng lây nhiễm thông qua đường hô hấp, tiêu hóa. Bệnh có tính truyền nhiễm cao, có tính toàn cầu. Chó ở mọi loài, mọi lứa tuổi đều có khả năng nhiễm bệnh và lây nhiễm.

Đây là một căn bệnh thường gặp nhất trên cún đặc biệt là những chú cún từ 3-6 tháng tuổi. Tỷ lệ tử vong khi mắc phải là rất cao. Hiện nay vẫn chưa có thuốc nào điều trị được căn bệnh này. Chủ yếu là do ý thức phòng chống bệnh của người chủ thông qua việc sử dụng vac-xin kháng bệnh từ nhỏ.

Đường xâm nhập và cơ chế gây bệnh care ở chó

Virus gây bệnh xâm nhập cơ thể chó qua đường hô hấp, đường tiêu hoá cũng có thể qua da. Bệnh care lây lan do đụng chạm trực tiếp với con ốm. Dùng chung thức ăn, nước uống, nhiễm nước mũi, nước tiểu con ốm.

Thời gian nung bệnh khoảng 4 – 5 ngày, dao động từ 2 – 3 ngày, đến 2 tuần. Virus ban đầu khiến cún sốt cao. Cơn sốt đầu tiên kéo dài từ 1 – 2 ngày rồi hạ. Cơn sốt thứ hai phát sinh nặng hơn. Chó bệnh có các biến chứng: viêm phế quản – phổi, viêm ruột cata, viêm não,…

Care thường biểu hiện với triệu chứng lâm sàng như sốt cao, hô hấp khó khăn, viêm dạ dày ruột cấp và triệu chứng thần kinh.
Thời kỳ ủ bệnh của care thường 3 – 6 ngày (dài nhất là 17 – 21 ngày). Bệnh tình có thể kéo dài khoảng trên dưới 1 tháng. Chó phát bệnh thường chết ở tỉ lệ rất cao nếu không sớm điều trị. Lúc bệnh phát ở dạng kế phát (thường kết hợp cùng bệnh viêm gan truyền nhiễm) tỉ lệ chết do bệnh càng cao. Bệnh phát thường đi đôi với tuổi đời của chó. Chó phát bệnh care nếu được chữa khỏi có thể có kháng thể care suốt đời. Mùa đông xuân là mùa phát bệnh care ở chó.

Các giai đoạn của bệnh care ở chó

Thời kỳ mới phát bệnh

Bệnh biểu hiện giống cảm mạo, và viêm ruột, ho nhẹ, chảy nước mũi, nước mắt, sốt (40 độ C trở lên). Cơn sốt liên tục 2 – 3 ngày sau đó tự giảm, ăn ít tiêu chảy nhẹ. Qua 2 – 4 ngày điều trị các triệu chứng trên biến mất.
Chó lại ăn nhưng ăn ít, thần kinh không được tinh nhanh, gương mũi khô.

Thời kì trung bệnh

Sau 7 – 14 ngày chuyển qua giai đoạn 2 của bệnh. Thân nhiệt tiếp tục tăng cao (>40 độ C). Các loại thuốc giảm sốt không có hiểu quả rõ rệt (có thể kéo dào 7 – 12 ngày). Chó ăn kém chảy nước mũi, ho khụ như bị hóc xương. Hô hấp tăng nhanh, thể bụng ngực hô hấp, giác mạc đỏ hồng, mắt ướt hoặc loét.

Thời kì hậu kỳ

Hậu kỳ, nhiệt độ thân nhiệt chuyển thành bình thường hoặc sốt nhẹ. Chó ho, dử mũi khô dần thành dạng mủ. Mắt loét nhiều, dử mắt dạng mủ. Dử mắt nhiều có thể không mở nổi mắt (mắt nửa nhắm nửa mở), mắt biến nhỏ. Cơ thể  gầy nhanh, thích nằm hơn vận động, ăn ít, kén ăn hoặc hoàn toàn không ăn. Ỉa phân nát lẫn (có thể có lẫn máu, niêm mạc ruột).
Song song xuất hiện đế chân biến thành dầy lên. Trên da vùng bụng bẹn trong xuất hiện các nốt như hạt gạo màu hồng.

Thời kì cuối

Khi đến thời kỳ này thì 99% là không cứu được (với trường hợp phát hiện trễ hoặc không vào thuốc thường xuyên khi còn ở 2 thời kỳ đầu). Còn nếu phát hiện sớm và đi chích thuốc đều thì còn cơ hội
Giai đoạn này chó thường bỏ ăn hoàn toàn và tiêu chảy lẫn cấp. Vì thế chó gầy sút nhanh, hốc mắt trũng sâu, bụng hóp, lông xơ xác. Chó đi xiêu vẹo hoặc nằm 1 chỗ, không mở mắt nổi và chết ngay sau 12 – 24h
Nếu chó bị mắc Care từ 10 ngày trở lên sẽ có triệu chứng thần kinh: Chó bị co giật hoặc đâm sầm vào tường. Khi đụng vật cản chó nổi cơn co giật hoặc có thể sùi bọt mép.
