Bệnh lở mồm long móng (LMLM) được Tổ chức Thú y Thế giới OIE (World Organisation for Animal Health) coi là bệnh truyền nhiễm nguy hiểm nhất trong tất cả những bệnh truyền nhiễm ở gia súc nói chung và ở Heo nói riêng. Sự nguy hiểm của bệnh LMLM là do khả năng lây lan rất nhanh và phát tán rộng qua không khí. Virus có thể phát tán qua không khí với bán kính hàng km, do đó khi bệnh bùng phát thiệt hại là rất lớn cho người chăn nuôi. Ngoài ra bệnh LMLM còn là bệnh phải công bố dịch quốc tế, như vậy khi bệnh xảy ra sẽ ảnh hưởng đến giao lưu thương mại quốc tế về động vật, thịt động vật.

1. Nguyên nhân

   Bệnh Lở mồm, long móng gia súc (LMLM) là bệnh truyền nhiễm, lây lan nhanh, gây ra bởi 1 trong 7 type vi rút: Type A, O, C, Asia1, SAT1, SAT2, SAT3, với gần 70 phân type.

   Ở Việt Nam đã phát hiện bệnh gây ra bởi 3 type A, O và  Asia1. Bệnh LMLM lây lan qua đường tiếp xúc giữa động vật khoẻ với động vật, sản phẩm động vật, thức ăn, nước uống, không khí, chất thải, dụng cụ, phương tiện vận chuyển, có măng mầm bệnh. Bệnh lây lan từ vùng này sang vùng khác, tỉnh này sang tỉnh khác, nước này sang nước khác theo đường vận chuyển động vật, sản phẩm động vật ở dạng tươi sống (kể cả thịt ướp đông, da, xương, sừng, móng, sữa, lông,… ). Động vật mắc bệnh LMLM là các loài động vật có móng guốc chẵn như: trâu, bò, lợn, dê, cừu, hưu, nai,…

   Theo Tổ chức Thú y thế giới (OIE), đây là bệnh dịch xếp đầu tiên ở bảng A (gồm các bệnh truyền nhiễm nguy hiểm nhất cho chăn nuôi và hạn chế thương mại đối với động vật, sản phẩm động vật).

2. Triệu chứng

   Thời gian ủ bệnh từ 2 – 7 ngày. Trâu, bò bệnh có triệu chứng:

– Sốt cao 41 – 42 độ C trong 2 – 3 ngày, chảy nước mắt nước mũi khi sốt.

– Nước rãi trắng như bọt xà phòng, chảy liên tục thành sợi từ miệng xuống đất.

 

– Niêm mạc mũi, miệng, lợi răng, trên mặt lưỡi mọc các đám mụn đỏ, sau mọng nước, trắng ra và vỡ loét, để lại các vết sẹo nhiều màu: đỏ, vàng, xám… làm cho súc vật bị bệnh đau đớn, khó ăn uống.

 

– Quanh các móng chân súc vật cũng mọc mụn loét giống ở miệng, vỡ loét ra, có thể bị nhiễm trùng và bong móng chân làm cho súc vật đi lại rất khó khăn và chỉ nằm một chỗ.

– Một số trường hợp trâu, bò bệnh có biến chứng viêm ruột, ỉa chảy, phân có máu và chết nhanh.
– Súc vật non có thể có biến chứng viêm cơ tim cũng chết rất nhanh.
– Trâu, bò cái bị bệnh thường có mụn loét ở núm vú, bầu vú giống như ở miệng.
– Trâu, bò cái mang thai khi bị bệnh thường sẩy thai.
– Trâu, bò trưởng thành bị bệnh chết với tỷ lệ 3 – 5%. Bê, nghé non bị bệnh chết với tỷ lệ cao hơn.
3. Phòng bệnh
   Khi chưa có dịch: Tổ chức tiêm vắc xin phòng bệnh LMLM cho đàn trâu bò ở các ổ dịch cũ và vùng có nguy cơ phát dịch theo định kỳ 12 tháng/lần. Mỗi lần trâu bò phải tiêm 2 mũi, mũi đầu cách mũi thứ 2 từ 4 – 6 tuần tuổi.
– Cách sử dụng vắc xin:
+ Nếu trâu bò có miễn dịch từ mẹ truyền cho thì tiêm mũi đầu vào 3 – 4 tháng tuổi; tiêm nhắc lại lần 1 vào 4 – 6 tuần sau khi tiêm mũi đầu; tiêm nhắc lại lần 2 vào 4 – 6 tháng sau khi tiêm nhắc lại lần 1.
+ Nếu trâu bò không có miễn dịch từ mẹ truyền cho thì tiêm mũi đầu vào 2 – 3 tháng tuổi; tiêm nhắc lại lần 1 vào 4 – 6 tuần sau khi tiêm mũi đầu; tiêm nhắc lại lần 2 vào 4 – 6 tháng sau khi tiêm nhắc lại lần 1.
+ Liều tiêm: 2 ml/trâu, bò. Miễn dịch kéo dài 12 tháng.
  Thực hiện vệ sinh chuồng trại hàng ngày và phun thuốc sát trùng theo định kỳ 2 tuần/lần.
  Nuôi dưỡng chăm sóc tốt đàn trâu bò để nâng cao sức đề kháng với bệnh, đảm bảo khẩu phần ăn đủ chất dinh dưỡng và đủ nguồn nước sạch cho trâu bò.
  Thực hiện kiểm dịch nghiêm ngặt khi phải xuất nhập trâu bò.
4. Điều trị
   Vi rút LMLM dễ bị bởi ánh nắng mặt trời, nhiệt độ cao (như nước đun sôi 100oC), các chất có độ toan cao như quả khế chua (pH ³ 3) và các chất kiềm mạnh như xút (pH ³ 9). Vi rút có thể sống nhiều ngày trong chất thải hữu cơ ở chuồng nuôi, các chất có độ kiềm nhẹ (pH từ 7,2 – 7,8); trong thịt ướp đông vi rút có thể sống trong nhiều tháng.
   Khi bị nhiễm bệnh LMLM, nếu không được điều trị kịp thời, gia súc non thường bị chết ở tỷ lệ từ 20 – 50%, gia súc trưởng thành thường bị chết từ 2 – 5%, tỷ lệ mắc bệnh trong một đàn thường là 100%. 
   Đến nay, bệnh LMLM chưa có thuốc chữa trị đặc hiệu, chỉ có thuốc chữa triệu chứng. Chữa triệu chứng nhằm làm cho vết thương nhanh chóng lành thành sẹo và không gây ra các biến chứng nguy hiểm làm chết gia súc.
– Bước 1: Chữa mụn loét: Rửa mụn loét bằng nước muối ấm. Có thể dùng một trong các chất như: DERMA-SPRAY, HAN-IODINE 10%, DERMA-AEROSOL  hoặc dùng thuốc mỡ Tetracilin, Penicilin bôi vào vết thương.
– Bước 2: Tiêm kháng viêm, giảm đau và phòng ghép bệnh kế phát: Dùng một trong các phác đồ sau 
+ DICLOFENAC (1ml/10kg thể trọng) + HAN CLAMOX (1ml/10kg thể trọng)
+ HETDAU (1ml/25 kg thể trọng) + LINSPEC 5/10 (1ml/10kg thể trọng)
+ BIO DICLOFENAC (1ml/10kg thể trọng) + BIO PENICILLIN 4.000.000 UI (1 lọ /80-100 kg thể trọng)
+ CEFTIKETO 1ml/ 15 kg thể trọng 

Tiêm liên tục từ 3- 5 ngày

– Bước 3: Chăm sóc cho gia súc, đảm bảo giữ chuồng khô ráo, sạch sẽ, lót chuồng dày cho gia súc nằm, cho ăn cỏ tươi, cỏ mền; bổ sung Vitamin, điện giải cho gia súc khi bị bệnh nặng.
